Catherine joins award-winning Kingston Park Primary pupils at the school’s End of Year Summer Exhibition

Newcastle North MP, Catherine McKinnell, has been given a guided tour of Kingston Park Primary’s special End of Year Summer Exhibition by award-winning pupils at the school.

The annual exhibition, which this year had the theme of ‘United Worlds’, displayed an impressive range of creative, literacy and numeracy work – with each school year focussing on a different country, and a citizenship quality, as pupils were in the midst of celebrating the World Cup.

Countries featured in the exhibition included Brazil, the Netherlands, the USA, Italy and Australia, with citizenship qualities including ‘fairness and equality’, ‘rights and responsibilities’ and ‘sustainable living’

Catherine was given her guided tour by Year 6 pupils who had just received awards at the school’s end of year Achievement Assembly: Grace Hanson (10th Anniversary Award for Most Outstanding Pupil); Luke Taylor (Kelsey Confidence Shield); Alistair Mowat (Silver Jubilee Music Award); and Dami Aiyegbaye (Smith Award for Sporting Achievement).

Catherine said:

‘The Kingston Park Primary exhibition was absolutely stunning, and was a really impressive example of the whole school coming together to create something beautiful.

‘Pupils and staff have clearly put in a huge amount of time and effort in bringing it all together, and are rightly very proud. It was also a privilege to be shown round the exhibition by the Year 6 award winners, who are a real credit to the school.’
