On 4 July, Catherine was returned as the Member of Parliament for Newcastle North having represented Newcastle North since 2010. Following this year’s boundary changes, Catherine elected to the new Newcastle North constituency with 24,440, over 50% of the vote, and a 17,722 majority.
Following her election, Catherine commented:
“I am delighted to be returned as the Member of Parliament for Newcastle North and immensely grateful to everyone who put their faith in me and Labour at this election.
“I am proud of my record as the MP for the former Newcastle North constituency between 2010-2024 but I know that with a Labour Government we can achieve so much more.
“No matter how you voted in this election, I will work my hardest to deliver for every resident in Newcastle North and my team and I are ready to work with and support residents right across the constituency”.
