The Government has announced plans to build or repair over 1,000 flood schemes across the country, including in Kingston Park as well as the Town Moor. This initiative aims to protect communities and the economy against the growing threat of flooding.
Extreme weather events caused by climate change are increasing in the UK, with devastating impacts. That is why the Government is investing £2.65 billion over two years to build and improve flood schemes – including £54,000 from 2025/26 to defend Kingston Park from surface water flooding as well as £600,000 for the Town Moor.
