Catherine attended this year’s Labour Conference in Brighton, where she spoke at several events about how the Government is working hard to break down the barriers to opportunity for every child.
Catherine took part in a number of panels as Minister for School Standards, with organisations including the Youth Sports Trust, the Social Market Foundation and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. She spoke on a variety of issues, ranging from improving mental health support in schools to broadening the curriculum for a holistic education.
Organisations also showcased their causes at exhibition stalls throughout Conference and Catherine visited a number of them including the Labour Unions stall, Marie Curie and Duolingo’s exhibition stall.
Following Conference, Catherine said:
“It’s been a really positive and exciting Conference this year, with important updates on how this Labour Government has already begun the hard work of delivering real change across the country.
“It was great to speak on a variety of panels about our plans to put education back at the centre of national life once again by delivering a broad and rich curriculum, supporting schools to deliver more mental health support and an inclusive education for all students.
“The difficult work has started and we will work tirelessly until the barriers to opportunity have been broken down for every child and young person in this country.”
