Clearspace classroomCatherine McKinnell, MP for Newcastle North, is writing to all schools across her constituency urging them to consider
entering a competition to win a new classroom.

The competition, which is open to all schools across the UK, is being held by local firm, Clearspace Buildings.  Clearspace produces permanent, modular structures at its factory at Team Valley and specialises in designing high quality classrooms.

The firm is offering schools the chance to win a new classroom, suitable for 30 students, worth £80,000 (or a contribution of £80,000 towards a vertical extension on top of an existing school building, where a stand-alone classroom is not suitable).

Schools need to state in no more than 300 words why they ‘deserve’ a new learning space, and more details of the competition can be found online at www.tesconnect.com/building. The closing date for entries is 16th February 2014, with the overall winner having their new classroom built during the 2014 school holidays.
