Member Answering Question: Prisk, Mark

Answer: The coalition programme set out the Government’s intention to support the creation of local enterprise partnerships to replace regional development agencies. The Government confirmed its intention to abolish all regional development agencies in the Budget on 22 June 2010. If it is the clear wish of business and civic leaders to establish a local enterprise partnership for a functional economic area that matches existing regional boundaries, we will not object.
