An MP’s staff have ditched their razors to grow moustaches throughout November to raise money for charity.  Tim Hills and Dan Greenhough, who are based in the Newcastle North MP’s Lemington office have pledged to raise £250 for Prostate Cancer UK. Royal Mail are backing the team and have pledged to match every penny they raise, taking their total target to £500.

“A few friends have been surprised to see my new look”, said Tim, “but despite a lot of ridicule from friends and family, I’m delighted that we’re raising money for such a  worthwhile cause.”

Dan added “I think it’s great to be involved in something that is a bit of fun but also raises money and awareness for such a worthwhile cause. Movember is a fantastic way of highlighting  the issue as people get a reminder of what you are doing every time you walk into the room.”

Ms McKinnell said, “Having little chance of growing a moustache myself, I’m delighted that Tim and Dan have taken up the mantle to raise money for such a worthy cause inspired by the generous support from Royal Mail. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer for men in the UK, killing 10 000 a year – and because it sometimes has no symptoms it can often go undetected until it’s too late. I’m proud that my team have thrown themselves into raising awareness, and funds, to fight the disease.”
