Responding to Wednesday’s attacks in Westminster, Catherine said:

‘It’s difficult to put into words how humbled and grateful I am to the police, other emergency services and NHS staff, and members of the public for the way they stepped in.

‘My thoughts are very much with PC Palmer’s family – and with the families of those from around the world who were killed or injured as a result of this sickening attack.

‘Our democracy is rightly an open and accessible one, and PC Palmer bravely and selflessly gave his life to protect it.’
